A while ago I made my own suitcase interieur for a "pelicase" wichbis easy becouse of the mouting surfaces between the lids. when is see your case I think you wil have to go by glueing or drilling thru the suitcase (what would be a shame). in my suitcase I left enouch space to close the lid while patched with stackables.
Update 2025: I published the album below on Bandcamp a few years ago, then took it down about a year later because I fell out of love with it. For some reason, I listened to it again last month and decided that it's better than I remember and reflects where I was in the pandemic, and what I was doing with my little modular rack. I'm quite surprised what I managed to squeeze out of the modules I had back then. I have a bigger rack now and am struggling to do anything with a similar focus as Covid Drones - I live in hope but perhaps the lesson is that less is more - not sure. I'm not going to do anything rash, like sell everything, but I'm wondering if my lack of productivity know is due to lack of a clear idea, too many modules, falling out of love with Eurorack or some combination. Don't know. Anyhow, I wanted to bump my album up the list, which is why I've written this post.
Maybe I don´t know the right keyboard shortcut or setting, but there is an issue with pasting modules in larger racks: The pasting target is always the first available matching space.
While this is not a problem with small racks, it becomes really annoying when having, say, 12 rows: You need to manually pull down the module across multiple pages and the autoscroll helps a bit, but is a little wonky in its behaviour. All ok for a module or two, but it gets annoying really quickly.
Here is how this could work:
a) add an icon to the mouseover right below the > buttons that pulls the number of rows of this rack and let´s you select a target row (similar to the swap rows behaviour in edit/swap rows, just "insert in row x" as a dropdown selection.
or
b) set a rack wide parameter (in edit mode) that determines the row that things get pasted to instead of "lowest row number"
or
c) in rack edit mode add a radio button that says "Reverse Paste", ie pasting to "highest row number instead of lowest".
a) would be nicest, as determined, adding a notification if there is no space in that row. comfort feature: grey out rows that don´t have enough space for the module in the clipboard. c) could be a lot easier, as it just reverses the existing paste algorithm, but it keeps the issue alive, just for the middle rows. Still a great improvement.
One more option: selecting multiple modules (CTRL = selecting by clicking, SHIFT = from ... to..). But that would change the clipboard content and I assume then mess with a few other functionalities.
Recently, a friend of mine bought an old fiberglass shell suitcase, completely gutted and empty inside. Along with the suitcase he bought a Behringer PSU. Ive already measured the dimensions and i have 85 HP @ 6U to work with. What are some of your suggestions on how I should affix the rack rails the the inside of the suitcase and how deep inset should i make it so that i can still close the case and carry it like a normal suitcase? i plan on using all Behringer modules for this build because ive already apent nearly 4 grand on my studio rack. As always, any advice/constructive criticism is appreciated.

I’m going on my Honeymoon to Japan! I’m going to document my trip in sound, using a field recorder and Multigrain by Intellijel. I will use these recordings as the foundation of an EP that I will be releasing later in 2025. Super excited!

- EXP/LOG : switch between exponential (white led) and logarithmic (orange led) pitch mod curves

- MODE CV : scan thru the 10 modes (0 +5v)
- VCO CV : voltage to TUNE slider position 1v/oct (0 +5v)

Tesseract Modular sent me their new module, Smith, to review. it’s an 8 x 8 precision-buffered matrix, with trigger/cv control and presets, and it can handle audio, cv, and even pitch cv.

FWIW I have a 6U 104hp wide rack already for this purpose.
I eschew effects, mixing and output as I use another rack with it that has an Expert Sleepers interface to pass all the audio into a DAW. I do also have outboard sequencing but find the Westlicht Performer useful for generating ideas and it's a handy source for basslines and complex modulation.
The combo of the Befaco Noise Plethora and Percall is nice for a bunch of noise based textures and atmospheres plus a bit of percussion with a difference.
The endorphin.es Black Noir is also a huge bargain, got mine used for £250 and that big DJ style filter knob is really effective.
Realized there's a section to the left of me in my "home studio" that's prime real estate for a rack. It provides a maximum size of 9u x 124hp:
The modules can be split into three categories:
Sound sources: Similar to what I've listed before, but I've switched out Kraken for the Queen of Chaos. I used to have a DFAM (sadly lost in a stupid episode of plugging in wrong power supply), and Queen of Chaos looks like an interesting synth in that regard.
Mixers and effects: The idea is that all sounds can be mixed with effects through the aux mono and stereo of the Cosmic Pro. The idea is also to have everything be post-processed with Messor (as glue compressor) and a couple of Steve's M-22 (I enjoy duel filter in the Solar 42f, and thought I might do the same here).
I've included a mix for the Hihats, that should take two signals and normalize them both to a stereo out. Without this the drum modules sum up to 7 audio signals, so with this Mutant Hihats will only occupy one stereo audio (and Scrooge will occupy the other).
I've also introduced Ghost and Rainmaker as effects. I already own these, and I think they should be good all-round effects for the drum sounds.
Utilities: Lots of CV generation and modulation, and a bit of logistics. I've tried to design around a "default patch", where the Oxi One can be used as master sequencer for all (CV to Ultra-Kick, Ultra-Perc, Mutant Hihats and Queen of Chaos; midi to Rample and Scrooge). But I can also use various modules to generate rhythms, and Pam's is a central module for this (and can also be linked to global clock via midi).
Some other considerations: I've positioned Pipe and the WK3 Midi Thru modules to the right so that they connect with the overall layout of my home studio and provide CV and midi for the overall rack.
I've also included ADDAC511 because I believe it can provide some interesting CV signals to introduce a bit of controlled randomness to the rack.
I think the rest of the modules are self-explanatory, but please ask if you have any questions. I'm somewhat new to this, and might forget obvious things. I should also point out that this is probably not where I'll end up, but I hope it brings up some interesting ideas ^_^
(And there are probably a lot cheaper options than this, I know, but I think this could be a fun synth to build, even though it will take me years, so I'm ok with the prices.)
A synth built around the Plinky + Crey Emporium Combobuddies DIY module trio.
Modules from left to right, bottom to top:
Clock O'Pawn MkII is a neat little DIY-available clock generator with MIDI sync that outputs regular clock, accents, and 16ths. It can save your settings for later, which can then be loaded by Harlequin's Context through select bus.
Harlequin's Context is a DIY-available sleeper powerhouse of CV generation and sequencing. The other Shakmat modules in this rack, besides the filter, can also be sequenced by Harlequin's Context through select bus, no patching required!
Combobuddies is a trio of touch-controlled 1u modules that can be mounted in an optional 3u plate that's included in the DIY kit. They have a web app that controls their settings, though I hope it will be downloadable at some point for offline perpetual availability.
* Bib the spider is a stereo multi-effects with overdrive, multi-tap & sync delay, and reverb (sick).
* Buzzrito the bee is a stereo swarm oscillator with touch controlled looping timbre control (rad).
* Blueberry the octopus is a touch programmable 5 note sequencer that is pentatonic by default, but can be reprogrammed to any desired 5 note scale (groovy).
Peaks is just Peaks. Will replace with CCTV's Immutable Peaks or another DIY clone if/when I get around to building this.
Dual Dagger is a stereo low-pass/high-pass filter that cuts your sound from one or both ends, enabling interesting variable bandpass modulation in addition to normal filter stuff.
Omen is a passive dual low pass gate that features two different sounding gates with 3 modes each. The top output is normalled into the bottom input, allowing two LPGs to act independently on the same signal.
Griffin's Claws is a recordable CV attenuator, offset, and cascaded mixer with a ton of extra utility features. Its settings can be saved, then loaded manually or by Harlequin's Context through select bus. In this system, Griffin's Claws does a lot of heavy lifting as As of writing this it doesn't have a DIY kit, but here's hoping!
Micro Mix is a passive mixer. I'll probably make a DIY passive mixer, but this one is a nice placeholder. Either way, the passive mixer is gonna do some heavy lifting in this rack.
G&T turns triggers into gates and gates into triggers. Very useful because Clock O'Pawn MkII only makes triggers from what I can tell in the manual.
1U Dual LIN/EXP VCA does what it says in the name.
XY IO adds a 3rd channel to the Stereo Mix 1u.
Stereo Mix 1u does what it says in the name.
Stereo I/O 1u makes the input and output jacks on the Palette case work, and also provides a headphone output. It acts as a preamp for any external audio I want to send through the circuits.
Intellijel Palette case for the 1u row and built-in buffered mults. Notably, Modular Grid says there are 14 modules in the case, but the Palette only has 12 power headers. 3 of the modules are passive and one is just the attached top row of the case. However, each of the Combobuddies is as an independent module and requires its own power supply, which MG doesn't consider, meaning the Palette has exactly enough power headers for this rack!

Hi, if this prototype will go in stereo i/o, with 2x retrn and send aux , no clock in and phones out with cue will be the perfect mixer. Go instruo nice and elegant dessing with very good quality!!!
Had some fun with my newest module today, the Rample, and wanted to check out the sample banks that were created by The Flashbulb. It ended up as a song ^_^
For those interested in the gear: The Rample is accompanied by the Hats808 and mixed with Ghost for a dash of effects, most importantly delay and reverb. The Ultra-Kick provides, well, kicks, and I make sure to side-chain it to the other instruments.
Solar 42f provides the simple melody in the background, as well as some bassy voices. To help with bass I also used Equator2, a MPE soft synth that I play using a Seaboard. Atop of this are Coral and Pluck, which provide some "bleepy" sounds. I use the M185 as sequencer for the latter modules, but patch the one going to Coral through Penrose Quantizer to make sure only specific notes are hit.
To control all of this I have the Oxi One, which communicate with the various parts using midi and cv. All of the instruments (except the kick) are heavily mixed with a reverb pedal.

could you add to the filter for the modules the depth of the module so we could select for exeample only skiff compatible with slim case of 3,5 cm .
I think I would prefer having the inputs on the left side of the potentiometers, not toally sure though, right side could also be handy depending on where it is positioned in your rack
So I'm really only looking at Disting nt to possibly remove, I'd think it would be literally anything else I'd need in a patch, with cool granular, audio & cv potential, especially in the future.

Step 1: Spend lots of money buying a palette with all the currently available modules in this system.
Step 2: Spend lots of time and even more money collecting all the Mutable Instruments modules.
Step 3: Write an alarm clock applet for Ornament and Crime that outputs a regular clock signal after a timer, and pauses the clock for 5 minutes when it recieves a trigger.
Step 4: Patch yourself an alarm clock.
Set up Tides, Veils, and Quantum Rainbow 2 to play slowly shifting noise through Ripples and Digiverb to soothe you to sleep. Your new O&C alarm clock applet will wait 8 hours and then clock a sequencer applet from O&C, which will play your alarm voiced by Plaits, Ripples, and Digiverb. You can patch FSR into the alarm clock applet to act as a snooze button on days where you just really don't want to get out of bed.
I'm graduating college this spring, so maybe one day I'll have the money to build an alarm clock as wonderful and silly as this one!

Mimeophon can be also like a instrument, with feeback and karplus strong.
Pamelas Pro Workout as Main modulation and sequencing hub.
Benjolin with Turing Maschine expanders as sequencer, modulation, filter and soundsource.

solid small module, unfortunately the hp outs are supernoisy when using high quality low impedance headphones like the austrian audio range or the focal ones. cheap earbuds work fine though.
