I would start with intelijell 62 hp palette case. Add the Umidi CV interface tile, and a mono output 1u tile. So 450-500 would get you started. I 'm only suggesting palette case as a starting case because it and Umidi has good resale value.
This example case can do a lot in a small form factor.

Someone needs to instruct me on how post a proper rack. I must be thick or something.

If you have not decieded yet, Klavis twin waves should be on your watch list also. I got mine specifically for doing the whole fm thing for my other oscillatiors.. All the basic functions are on the front panel. No menu diving. It has octave switching as well. Being Digital it has crap-ton of wave shapes, with a built in wavefolder Sense it contains twin oscillators, the second one is normalled to through zero FM. If you don't have a though-zero oscillator it would be a good introduction into it. personally I use the second oscillator as a noise source into a submixer for my analog oscillator.

Just need a couple of mixers and your good to go!

Sweet, I like it.

I used to be able to do this on the drop down hover menu. Where did it go?

I have the hosa version of those cables. My mixer is on DB25 connectors, so I just have patchbay in an 19 equiment rack on the of side my desk. That is what I doing now. I just wanted to clean up all the patch cable and run everything to a central location.

Hello,
I have issues I am trying to find a format converter that takes modular 1/8 to 1/4. I need 16 channels to my mixer. So something that has 8 channels would be nice. So people that are using out board mixers in their setup how are you connecting this up?
Jason
So, after looking at around 2,000 modules I found this brand Mazzatron. So, 8 hp with 8 jacks of 1/8 to 1/4.

These are valid concerns. Maybe I can find one of the nw2s modules. These are on DB25 snakes. The company seems out of bussiness but I am sure some will pop up on reverb.

In the near future, I would get a Arturia keystep pro. Take the drums and note sequencing out of the rack to save space. I would replace steppy with some 1u drum modules.

You are on the right track. Did you see my failed attempt to reply to your post? What changes have you made?

Think about MI grids for triggering your drums and something more dedicated to pitch sequencing. Perhaps a Rene for more happy accidents or Q-bit Octone for a more standard approach to melody. Another option would be Pam's and O+C that would get you into a Rene type sequencing. I only mention these because there in a lot of peoples racks.

Your lacking envelopes. I would get a least one standard ADSR envelope this being its only function.

Stages with only six steps it a really expensive envelope generator. Any other functions Stages does with only six steps it does poorly. If you double up on anything get two of those.
Happy rack obsessing
