After watching the RedMeansRecording and then doing the walk-thru from MoltenMusicTech I had a go at creating a Krell Patch on the eurorack.
Not strictly self-playing as I'm shooting the Input of the Befaco VC ADSR a trigger from Mutable Instruments Marbles, Marbles is mainly used as a modulation source. The Gate-out of the Sustain stage on the Befaco Triggers the Sample & Hold and changes the Oscillator pitch. Lots of modulation from Ochd, Clep Diaz, Marbles & the 2hp RND.

You can ignore all the wires, I have 2 patches going on here, and I ease in a patch built around the Error Instruments Indian Resonator about half way through, the Indian Resonator works great when you combine it with a Sine wave and stick it through a Wavefolder so there are 2 parts that come from that.

20 minutes of good old Krell madness. I particularly like the solo between 17:00 and 18:00. I didn't understand anything he said, as I don't always understand the Krell language, but he said it so well...

It's remarkable how well this style of music fits with the simple film of the modular in action. The cables and flashing LEDs are Krell.

Only criticism: no black cat! But it's possible that she must have taken refuge under the table, or on top of the cupboard? Cats prefer mice.

It was too early for cat modular, they chill out at the start of the mornings. Cheers

Hi Wishbonebrewery,

Great experimental track! I love the reverb sounds in this track, that does it for me :-)

Sweelinck mentioned it already and that was the first thing (besides the thoughts I had about your music of course) that came to my mind too: I am missing your cat in your video ;-)

Great work and thanks a lot for sharing that with us, kind regards, Garfield.

When I first heard of the Krell Patch I just totally didn’t get it, but after trying it I absolutely love it. This is an awesome exploration of the concept with such a huge variety of sounds and tones. Amazing! Have you checked out the 44 part super-in-depth series by Daniel Cramer? He takes it to crazy levels too. Cheers!

I'll check it out this evening. It definitely got me to get some new sounds out of my modular.

And this ‘little’ Stereo Krell by Todd Barton using the new Tiptop Buchla Quad Lopass Gate Model 292t...
Wonderful.
