Look up onThis is one of Boss’ earliest digital delay pedals and is rare, since it was only produced in Japan between 1985-1986 (this one is dated May 1985). The idea was to build on the success of their original compact digital delay pedal (the DD-2) by adding their first sample-and-hold looper function. The pedal is known for crisp delay tones between 50-800 ms and for cleanly looping up to 800 msec of input. Controls include Effects level (to adjust the volume of the delay signal compared to the original), Feedback (to adjust the number of repeats from one to infinity) and Time (to regulate delay time in Delay Mode or sampling interval between 200-800 msec). The Mode knob selects between two ranges of delay time and two types of sampling output - with or without overlapping recording. The pedal sounds fantastic and is in near-mint condition, with no dents, dings, rust marks or Velcro residue. There are a few very small, subtle marks in the paint on the sides; these do not show up well in the photos. The pedal takes an internal 9V battery or the standard Boss PSA-style 9V adapter (not included). It comes in a non-original Boss box with a printed copy of the manual.
