EarthQuaker Devices Special Cranker - Overdrive Pedal

Handmade in Akron, OH. Serial number 2447.

EQD's take on a transparent, amp-like overdrive. The Special Cranker is designed to push your amp into natural breakup territory without masking your guitar's character. Three knobs (Level, More, Tone) plus a Si/Ge mode toggle that switches between silicon and germanium clipping - silicon for tighter, more compressed drive; germanium for looser, warmer breakup. Currently $99 new from EQD. This is priced as a fully tested, clean working unit with no box.

Bench-tested - fully functional:

• Powers on cleanly via standard 9V center-negative supply

• Footswitch confirmed working - LED illuminates correctly (amber)

• All 3 knobs (Level, More, Tone) turn smoothly with full sweep, no scratchiness

• Mode toggle (Si/Ge) clicks cleanly into both positions - audible difference between silicon and germanium clipping confirmed

• Clean bypass, no signal bleed or pop

• Flexi-switching works - momentary and latching modes both functional

Cosmetic condition:

• Orange enclosure with gold graphic - looks great from the front

• Minor scuffs on sides and small paint chip on lower right edge (see photos)

• Bottom label (S/N 2447) shows scratching/wear on the EQD logo area - cosmetic only

• All original knobs present and secure

• Footswitch firm and responsive

• No cracks, no dents, no stripped screws

Sometimes issues do arise in transit and can be caused by rough handling, old/brittle wiring, or a component failing under the rigors of shipping. Major issues are covered by insurance - that's why every package ships fully insured.

Many issues are minor and fall under normal user maintenance. These are things any buyer of used electronics should be comfortable handling:

• Pots can be scratchy or develop a flat spot from use. DeoxIT solves most of these.

• Switches occasionally need to be cleaned or adjusted to make better contact.
