The JFET design feels responsive under the fingers and excels at light, tasty crunch that is easy to control with your touch. It works especially well for roots, indie and blues, and with the Honey (gain) set lower, it does a nice job of pushing an amp or stacking with other pedals. Turn the Honey up, and the Fatbee moves into a looser overdriven crunch that recalls a small combo pushed hard. Still, we like it best with just a touch of Honey, where it adds a bit of sweetness to chords and single-note lines while balancing clarity and grit.
