Up for sale is a classic Boss CS-3 Compression Sustainer, manufactured in September 1986 in Japan. This is a very early production unit from the first year this model was introduced.​​Origin: Made in Japan (Black Label).​Serial Number: 703000 (Dates to September 1986).​Power: Requires Boss ACA 12V adapter or a 9V battery (standard for MIJ Boss pedals of this era).​Condition: Players grade. The pedal shows significant cosmetic wear with plenty of chips and scratches (please see photos), which gives it a great "road-worn" vintage look.​Functionality: 100% original and fully functional. Potentiometers are smooth, and the compression is tight and punchy, just as it should be.​The early MIJ (Made in Japan) versions of the CS-3 are often preferred by players for their specific component choice before production moved to Taiwan. This unit has the original vintage knobs and that classic compression snap that defined countless recordings.​Note for buyers: This pedal uses the ACA circuit.
