Look up onIf you know Dwarfcraft, you already know this thing is not here to behave politely. It’s here to get you kicked out of a blues jam, while being complimented by the one guy who knows what’s up, on your way out.The Wizard of Pitch is Dwarfcraft’s gloriously weird take on pitch shifting, and it does exactly what you’d hope a pedal with this name would do: strange warbles, glitchy bends, detuned chaos, and sounds that range from “subtle enough to justify leaving it on the board” to “your amp is now haunted.” It’s not a clean, clinical studio pitch shifter, and that’s exactly the point. This thing has personality for days.Where a lot of pitch pedals aim for pristine tracking and safe, expected results, the Wizard of Pitch leans hard into the unstable, the lofi, and the beautifully unhinged. It can add movement, disorientation, and just enough wrongness to make a part feel way more interesting. Great for ambient textures, noise rock, experimental stuff, garage psych weirdness, and anyone who hears “that seems broken” as a compliment. It also does that rare pedal thing where it feels inspiring instead of merely functional. You don’t just step on it and get a sound. You step on it and suddenly start playing differently, which is usually the sign that a pedal is actually worth owning. For guitar players, it’s a killer way to get into seasick modulation, oddball pitch bends, and off-kilter textures without sounding like every other dude with a Chase Bliss pedal. For bass players, this thing can get especially nasty in the best way. Used carefully, it can add an unsettling upper texture or weird doubled character that sits on top of the fundamental. Used less carefully, it becomes a full-on WTF. Both are valid. Why this one rules:Weird in the right wayMore character than polishInspires parts instead of just processing themPerfect for players who like their pedals a little unstable and a lot memorableIf you’re after clean, invisible pitch correction, this ain’t that. If you want a pedal that sounds like a wizard cursed your signal path in a creatively useful way, here you go.
