On sale this oldest version of DD-3 (almost the same as DD-2) . This version is particularly interesting as it has the famous big and long chip that was also mounted in the classic Roland SDE-3000 unit . This is also the last version that features technology from DM-2 which is analog delay pedal . Since 1991 Boss has introduced DD-3(a) which is very different inside though looks almost the same on the outside - it has also blue label and "made in Japan"Mine performs well and looks good .
