This pedal is in very good shape and works as it should. The Soviet era Germanium MP39 is a great sounding transistor for this circuit. It’s a little fuller and and a little thicker sounding to my ears than some of the other options like the CV 7003.It is also one of the two transistors Dunlop chose to use in the limited edition Joe Bonamassa Fuzz Face from 2013. It's not as famous of transistor as the NKT 275 or CV 7003 but it sounds great to me. This is a treble booster pedal and needs to be used in front of a tube amp that is already generating a little Overdrive or just at the point of break up.It won’t sound good in front of a solid state amp or a twin turned way down for example.I test all my pedals before I ship them to make sure the posts didn’t get scratchy etc.
