The VG-88 is a guitar/amplifier/speaker/microphone modelling preamplifier with built-in effects.Page on Roland's site: The guitar modelling section requires the use of a 13-pin cable and a guitar fitted with a hex pickup, such as the Roland GK-2 or GK-3. However the unit is perfectly usable without it: it works the same way as other modelling preamps / multi-fx.The master volume knob is missing but the control still works. In practice it's hardly needed.Note: The unit is fitted with a UK mains plug but it works in EU with a simple adaptor. It's a 2 wire connector so it's easy to change.
