The Aircraft Designs Axis is a pocket-sized mastering chain that's designed for portable recording, performance, or just as a studio stalwart. Each section features the essentials with no frills because it's just not necessary: this keeps you signal transparent and clean, unless you want to introduce a touch of grit with the built-in Saturation section. Working backwards in the chain, the Saturation zone gives you the option to choose the Saturation Type along with the Clipping Type. Before that, a 2-band EQ lets you adjust the Lows and Highs, each with a three-position frequency switch. At the top of the unit and top of the signal chain you have a robust VCA compressor that gives you all the controls you'd expect to find on a rack unit: Threshold and Makeup, a Balance control, and a bevy of preset switches to control the Release, Attack, Ratio, and Sidechain Filter.
