The SubZero Hidden Gem Guitar EQ pedal allows you to tweak your tone without compromise. Designed in house by our specialists, at the heart of the pedal lies five fixed frequency bands. These were specifically chosen to match frequencies
prominent in electric and electro-acoustic guitars.
• 100Hz – Lower this band to reduce undesirable low-frequency content to help free space in the arrangement, allowing the kick and bass to cut through.
• 250Hz – A subtle boost in this band can be a complimentary move to add “body” to your sound, especially if a drastic 100Hz cut has been applied. This will “round” out your low-end for a more natural, defined sound.
• 630Hz – A moderate cut of around 2-3dB at 630Hz can be a real asset for dealing with “mud” and “boxiness” on distorted guitars.
• 1.6kHz – If you’re struggling to cut through and be heard then a midrange boost at 1.6Khz will certainly do the trick. This will add more “bite” to your tone by bringing out transient detail such as pick attack. Alternatively if your tone sounds too “aggressive” then a cut here can help restore the natural balance.
• 4kHz – Fancy a little more presence? Boost 4kHz to add definition to your sound. A 1-2dB boost here will instantly give you that “record-ready” sound.
