Module produces unison supersaw waveforms from incoming signal
The Happy Nerding, Super Sawtor is a module designed to produce unison like waveforms from a incoming signal. For best results use sawtooth, triangle or sine waveforms as an input signal. Unison spread has been tuned to give almost the same type of harmonic smearing as the famous Roland jp80x0 supersaw oscillator. Thus utilizing the Super Sawtor with a sawtooth waveform will result in a typical supersaw output.
Though having some features in common with sawtooth animators, Super Sawtor produces the vivid tension of a supersaw waveform, which is different from using multiple oscillators to approximate the sound. This is unlike most sawtooth animator circuits. The main difference is in the approach used: sawtooth animators tend to recreate continuously moving phase shifts of slightly detuned / drifting oscillators; Super Sawtor in its turn creates additional pitch shifted harmonics to the input signal, which gives a different sonic character compared to other sawtooth animators.
It should also should be mentioned that Super Sawtor is a completely analog circuit free of aliasing.
