ERD Modular All the Colours of the Noise
All the Colours of the Noise Rosarium from ERD is a large, complex noise voice that gives you a garden of sonic exploration in the noisy realm of expression. The module is divided into two different sides, with each side offerring a laundry list of noisy sources and processors. In each, you get a noise source, a shift register with 64 different modes, a clock-controlled filter, a clock or oscillator for that filter, and two comparators—one for the clock, and one for the audio input to the filter. Each side has a different characteristic: left is a low pass filter while right is a band pass filter but they share a single audio source. The shift register on each side is identical, and both feature 2 inputs and 2 outputs. The top input can be used (depending on mode) as a clock source for the register; the bottom output is a divided, slower output.
The modes of the shift register are inspired by different classic shift register implementations, but after about 3 o'clock you get different ways of generating the filter clock. There is a normaled signal path for all features, but the real fun happens when you start to break the signal flow and patch. Whether it's self-patched or using external signals, you can get enjoyable results that dazzle the mind. If you're a noise aficionado or just looking for some harsher moods, All the Colours of the Noise Rosarium from ERD is the module for you.
