Eurorack version of the Lumanoise v4 desktop synth
The different Lumanoise models have different oscillator setups, but all use the same 12dB/octave resonant LPF.
Lumanoise V4 is a drone synthesizer module based on four Trautonium-style sub-oscillators plus filter.
The Version 4 module is based on Oskar Sala’s Mixturtrautonium and has a T. master oscillator and four sawtooth sub-oscillators. The pitch of the T. master oscillator is controlled by a vactrol with offset and CV amount (range 0-10V, not 1V/Oct) using the Freq and CV Amt knobs (on right side) and Freq CV In. A High/Med/Low switch selects the frequency range of the T. master oscillator. The XXX potentiometer controls a transpose-like function. Each sub-oscillator has a separate volume potentiometer, which adjusts the level of that sub-oscillator in the mix (Out). Version 4 also offers CV control of the VCA (range 0-10V). Each sub-oscillator also has a separate frequency potentiometer, which when turned clockwise, decreases that oscillator's frequency while increasing the division factor. Oscillators 1 and 2 are sub-oscillators of the T. master oscillator. Oscillators 3 and 4 are sub-oscillators of oscillator 2. The mixed Audio out is available on a mini-jack connector.
The LPF is a simple discrete transistor design created specifically for the Lumanoise family by L.E.P. The filter cut-off frequency is controlled by a vactrol with offset and CV amount (range 0-10V) using the Cutoff and CV Amt knobs (at bottom) and Cut CV In. The resonance frequency can also be adjusted with a potentiometer.
